Mercury served as Ford's mid-range brand for over 70 years before its 2011 discontinuation. While mostly known for comfortable cruisers like the Grand Marquis, the brand had performance moments—the Marauder packed a 302-horsepower V8 into a stealthy sedan, and earlier Cougars offered genuine muscle. Mercury represented accessible Ford luxury with occasional performance surprises.
